Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), established in the year 1956, is the chief municipal body of Indore city. IMChas been constituted under Article 243Q(1)(c) of the Constitution of India, 1949 and is currently functioning underthe Madhya Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1956. The Corporation is mainly responsible for providing civic services to the Indore city and undertakes several worksas per provided under Section 66 of the MPMC Act such as lighting public streets, places and buildings, cleaningpublic streets, places, sewers, registering births, marriages and deaths, maintenance of public parks, gardens,management and maintenance of all municipal water works, construction and maintenance of new work andmeans for providing a sufficient supply of suitable water for public and private purposes, construction andmaintenance of public market, etc
